I'm excited to introduce Sora, an innovative online library designed to support and enrich your child’s reading journey. Sora is now accessible to all students in Broward County Public Schools via their Clever account using their standard SSO (Single Sign-On) credentials.

Getting Started with Sora

Easy access: Students simply log in to Clever, then click the Sora app to dive right into the virtual library—no extra passwords required.
Multi-device support: Sora works seamlessly on smartphones, tablets, laptops, and desktop computers, enabling reading anytime and anywhere

Powerful Features for Readers of All Ages

1. Intuitive Navigation Tabs

Home: View teacher-assigned books, personal bookmarks, highlights, and notes.
Explore: Browse your school’s digital collection of ebooks, audiobooks, and graphic novels.
Shelf: Check your borrowed books, holds, and reading history.
Me: Track personal reading stats and earn achievement badges

2. Built-In Learning Tools

Highlight text, take notes, and use the DEFINE feature to look up words, including definitions, pronunciation, synonyms, and more.

3. Public Library CONNECT

Students can link their Sora account to the local public library to access many additional age-appropriate books and audiobooks, seamlessly integrated in one app

4. Customizable Reading Experience

Adjust font type and size, contrast, lighting, narration speed, and even use a dyslexic-friendly font. Sora also supports screen readers and high-contrast mode for accessibility

5. Engaging Reading Data & Motivation

The “Me” tab offers personalized dashboards that track the number of books opened, time spent reading, streaks, and more. Students can also earn badges and celebrate milestones, making reading fun and motivating

6. Comics, Magazines & Read-Alongs

Sora includes popular comics, magazines, and narrated "read-along" ebooks — enriching reading choices for all interests and levels
