The Sunshine State Young Readers Award (SSYRA) program is a statewide reading program that encourages students to read high-quality, age-appropriate books. Each year, students are introduced to a list of selected books and have the opportunity to vote for their favorite title. At our school, we encourage students to read the SSYRA books to help foster a love of reading and expose them to a variety of genres and authors. Students who read all 15 books from the list will be recognized and rewarded for their accomplishment. Please visit the SSYRA website to view this year's list of books.

i-Ready is an online Reading and Math program that provides students with personalized lessons based on their individual learning needs. Students take the i-Ready Diagnostic assessment several times throughout the school year to measure their current skill levels and academic growth. Based on their diagnostic scores, i-Ready automatically assigns lessons that target the specific skills each student needs to strengthen. These lessons are designed to help students grow at their own pace and build confidence in Reading and Math. We encourage students to complete at least 45 minutes per week in both Reading and Math to support their academic progress and success.

To participate in school events, field trips, classroom activities, or volunteer opportunities, parents and guardians must be registered as approved school volunteers through Broward County Public Schools. Please complete the online volunteer application using the link provided. Approval may take some time, so we encourage families to register as early as possible.
